On March 25 and December 9, 2017, MIC|C participates in a workshop at the MET in Bologna. The workshop deals with power relations in the European agricultural sector. It is led by the team of the New Plantations research project, which investigates the labour of migrants in agriculture, in particular in Puglia and Basilicata (South Italy). Participants work on several interactive tables concerning the housing, cultural and socio-economic conditions of immigrant workers. The aim of the workshop is to imagine, design and recall the different trajectories that reflect the different aspects - territorial, identical, housing and economic - of the current agricultural frontier of the Italian South. Furthermore, these trajectories - which are reconstructed through the physical, written and oral materials collected during the research - serve to outline a new map of coexistence in the Afro-European border area.
