To whom belongs the land that is brought to fruition? Who has the right to settle? Who does not? How can we reinvent a sense of place under conditions of constant uncertainty?

This intervention by MIC|C documents the impermanent space of life at the margins. By invoking the direct connection between rubble and materiality, it highlights the paradox of a system, which transforms land and bodies into productive commodities, but which simultaneously destroys their settlement and the life that sustains them. #RUINS thus becomes the evidence of this momentary presence. It is testament to the impermanency of life as it has existed, like the smouldering ashes of a fire, or the traces of a camp after it has moved on.
